This project started out as a way for me to create a series of street art pieces that expressed one liners from songs that spoke to me about love or heart break. It helped me keep the faith and to not be bitter despite going through heartache. It gave me focus. In August of 2021, instagrams @dtlv did a feature on this work after I had put my first initial run of 18 pieces out on the streets of Las Vegas. That same night Sam was posting a story on IG, manifesting what she was dreaming about in a partner. She saw the @dtlv post and started following me. A few weeks later, we interacted on IG and started to become instant friends and that quickly grew into more. Sharing music was a part of who we were together. On my next set of cassettes, I asked Sam which lines she liked. Then that turned into us picking songs together and then to her helping me put them out on the streets.
We continue to do this project together. -Dan45

"Boil Through" by Odd Robot
The first song we shared as a couple. Very important song. Sam’s brother wrote this song. in our first conversation she asked me to check them out and I listened to ever Lp that night before I went to bed. She was very surprised and so happy that I did. This was the song that really spoke to us and our new found love.
Put up in Downtown Santa Ana. The site of our first date.

"Pineapple Princess" by Annette Funicello
Sam is a trained dancer and this song was the first song that I got to see a routine to. It forever left an imprint on me on how fun and cool she was. I will never forget that moment.
Put up in Downtown Long Beach.

"I Always Knew" by the Queers
We traded songs since the first day we met online. Then I created a punk love song playlist. This is one of the songs on that playlist. The Queers and the Descendents were very important to me at this moment. They kept love alive in my heart and helped lead me to true love.

"Rebel Girl" by Bikini Kill
Always loved this song and just wanted a cool rebel girl to be the queen of my world. Put the first one up in Las Vegas with the intent to never give up on the dreams of finding my dream woman and then put the second one up in the spot where we first kissed in Brea.
Put up in Downtown Brea & in the Arts district 18b in Las Vegas
